Description

Wide field photography is producing very pleasant surprises for me. While processing the entire Veil Nebula I have marveled at its fine structure and mix of colors. It is a supernova remnant and expands its typically blue gas. At the same time it heats the surrounding hydrogen producing beautiful red glows of ionized gas. Its brightest areas are known as East Veil, West Veil (witch's broom) and Pickering's Triangle, but with sufficient acquisition time I have been able to capture its closed shape. In the initial masters the nebula is almost hidden by a dense mass of stars. During processing, the successive steps reveal the wonder of its details.L : 225 x 60s = 225m
R: 60 x 150s = 150m
G: 61 x 180s =183m
B: 55 x 150s =137m
Ha: 42 x 240s = 168m
OIII: 57 x 300s = 285m
Total = 1148m = 19 h 8 m

Thanks for the aesthetic advice of my friend and colleague Carlos Arribas.
